A fishing vessel experienced problems with limescale deposits inside the tubes of several RSW coolers on board. The existing cleaning method, which used rotating brushes and a Goodway® AWT-100 tube cleaner, proved insufficient. After consulting with Goodway Benelux, the customer decided to perform a chemical cleaning-in-place (CIP) using the Goodway® GDS-100 descaling pump system.
A total of 1,000 liters of ScaleBreak-MP descaler was circulated through the tubes, and within a few hours, the limescale deposits were completely dissolved. The same cleaning procedure was then successfully carried out on three additional coolers aboard the vessel. Because the coolers did not need to be dismantled, the cleaning was completed efficiently – reducing downtime, labor, and safety risks.
