AWT-100X tube cleaner and nylon spider brushes: 150 mm dry tube cleaning

About this video

A large Dutch steel manufacturing plant was struggling with soft, powdery deposits that rapidly accumulated on the tube walls of their reactors. Within just 1 to 2 weeks, the tubes became heavily fouled, drastically reducing reactor performance. The plant initially attempted a water jetting solution, but quickly discovered that the cleanup created more work than the cleaning itself.

After an on-site inspection, Goodway Benelux deployed the AWT-100X tube cleaner, paired with a dry-use flexible shaft and our proprietary nylon spider brushes. A 200 mm brush was selected for the ~150 mm inner diameter piping, ensuring effective contact with the tube walls. This combination proved highly effective at removing the bulk of the deposits without damaging the steel piping, while a large vacuum system at the bottom captured the loosened material.

Following the successful demonstration, the customer purchased multiple sets of cleaning equipment to proactively maintain their tubes and prevent future performance losses.
