RAM-5 tube cleaner

The Goodway® RAM-5 tube cleaner is a mobile, innovative device designed for fast and effective cleaning of heat exchanger tubes. Its unique features make it ideal for facilities with multiple (large) heat exchangers. Unlike other tube cleaners, this system does not use a footswitch. Instead, it features a special gun that automatically pushes and pulls the flexible shaft and attached brush through the tubes. Simultaneously, the brush rotates to clean the inner surfaces of the heat exchanger tubes while a low-pressure water flush removes the loosened deposits.

The RAM-5 is widely used for HVAC/R maintenance in commercial facilities such as hospitals, office buildings, and data centers – where (large) water-cooled chillers must operate efficiently to maintain critical climate control. The system is also widely used in the maritime industry, for example, to clean large water-cooled chillers on board cruise ships.

Speed-feed system

The new speed-feed gun combines Goodway®’s Speed-Feed technology with the new reverse stop assembly. This allows the shaft to be quickly fired into the tube with a pull of the trigger, while the system automatically detects when the brush is retracted and stops it in the optimal position. Operators can also adjust brush rotation speed and shaft feed rate for improved cleaning of smooth or internally enhanced tubes. Quick-connect shaft and brush connections make changes fast and easy.

This innovative design enables tube cleaning up to four (4) times faster than conventional tube cleaners while minimizing operator fatigue and effort.

When to use

The RAM-5 tube cleaner is engineered to effectively remove light to medium deposits from heat exchanger tubes. It is particularly effective against deposits such as algae, sludge, mud, and biological fouling (biofilm). Designed for versatility, the RAM-5 can clean tubes ranging from 14 to 30 millimeters in diameter and lengths up to 10 meters.
