Goodway® RAM-5 blue flexible shafts are engineered for efficient heat exchanger cleaning when used with Goodway®’s RAM-5 tube cleaning system. Designed to operate with a low-pressure water flush, they effectively remove and flush out loosened deposits from tubes. These shafts include features that make them compatible with the RAM-5’s speed-feed system, which provides an automatic push-and-pull function to reduce manual labor compared to shafts that must be fed by hand.

How to use with speed-feed system

Every Goodway® tube cleaning system requires a flexible shaft to connect the machine to the cleaning brush. Without the shaft, the machine-to-brush connection cannot be established, making it an essential component of any tube cleaning setup.

The RAM-5 tube cleaning system is different from other tube cleaners because it features Speed-Feed technology, which automatically feeds the flexible shaft and cleaning brush through the tubes. When using this system, approximately 4,6 meters of flexible shaft length are consumed, so it is important to select a shaft longer than the total tube length. For example, if the tube length is 6 meters, the flexible shaft should be at least 10,6 meters long.

Note: Due to the design of the Speed-Feed system, RAM-5 shafts are only available in a 13 mm diameter (GTC-703-type). Use for tube inner diameters from 14 millimeters and up.

Threaded vs. Quick Connect

Goodway® RAM-5 blue flexible shafts are available with either threaded or quick connect brush fittings. Goodway Benelux always recommends selecting the quick-connect version, as the RAM-5 tube cleaning system features dual rotation for forward and reverse operation.

If you choose the threaded version and accidentally engage the reserve option, the brush will be lost inside the tube.
