Nylon abrasive brushes are designed to remove light to mediumhard deposits from straight, smooth tubes. Use with an oversize for the best cleaning results. The above pricing is per one brush.
We use the AWT-100X and RAM-4X tube cleaners of Goodway Benelux to provide boiler tube cleaning services at our customers. The combination of flex hub scrapers and nylon abrasive brushes makes for good cleaning results, even if the deposits are harder.
Nylon abrasive brushes are designed to remove light to mediumhard deposits from straight, smooth tubes of shell and tube heat exchangers, reformers, boilers and more. These tube cleaning brushes feature silicon carbide coating on the bristles for increased cleaning results. Use these brushes to remove deposits, like: sand, silt, mud, slime (biofouling), ash, soot, dust, light rust and scaling.
Note: This product is manufactured by Goodway Benelux BV and is not part of the Goodway® Technologies (USA) product range.
Nylon abrasive brushes have nylon bristles that have a silicon carbide coating. This gives them a number of significant advantages over other types of brushes:
The brushes are intentionally used in an oversized form, creating greater friction inside the tube and thereby enhancing the cleaning effect. This increased friction also makes it possible to remove tougher deposit types, such as light scaling. Additionally, the oversized design not only improves cleaning performance but also provides a gentle polishing effect for cleaner tubes.
In some cases – particularly with boiler firetubes – the fouling buildup inside the tubes can be severe. In such situations, a brush alone may not be sufficient to remove the deposits. A specialized cleaning tool is needed first to remove the bulk of the buildup. Afterwards, nylon abrasive brushes can be used to eliminate the remaining fouling and provide a slight polishing effect for optimal cleaning results.
For the initial cleaning pass, Goodway Benelux recommends using the Goodway® flex hub scrapers, which are highly effective at removing hard deposit buildups inside tubes.
Nylon abrasive brushes offer several advantages that make them both highly effective and reliable. Key benefits include their long lifespan, flexibility, and good cleaning performance.
Because of these qualities, these brushes are increasingly being used as a replacement for traditional stainless steel brushes. Stainless steel brushes often need to be custom-made with precise dimensions, which can lead to a high margin of error – especially if the actual tube diameter differs at the start of the job.
Nylon abrasive brushes are available exclusively with threaded brush fittings. Since these brushes are commonly used in industrial applications requiring heavy-duty equipment, the threaded connection provides the strongest attachment and minimizes the risk of failure.
These brushes can only be used with the GTC-720 blue flexible shaft and the GTC-704/721G black flexible shafts.
