Goodway Benelux visited a 300+ MW power plant in Denmark to assist the customer with a first-time cleaning of the main condenser system using Goodway® equipment. The team assisted in setting up the system and training the operators. After two full days on site, the operators – who had never used the equipment before – were able to clean 3,000 – 3,500 condenser tubes per 6 – 7 hour work shift.
The condenser contains 15,600 tubes, with seawater flowing through them. Although the plant is equipped with an automatic ball cleaning system (Taprogge), additional mechanical cleaning during planned stops is often required to maintain optimal performance. In this project, nylon coiled brush projectiles were deployed by two operators using Goodway®’s kinetic-hydrostatic pump system, ensuring efficient and thorough cleaning of the inner tube surfaces.
