A factory in Germany operates several shell-and-tube heat exchangers that require periodic cleaning. The tubes were internally fouled with rust and light scale. Initially, high-pressure water cleaning was used, but the results were insufficient. Mechanical cleaning proved far more effective, as the rotating brush made direct contact with the deposits.
The tubes had an internal diameter of 16,0 millimeters. A Goodway® AWT-100X tube cleaner was used in combination with a blue flexible shaft for wet cleaning and spin-grit brushes. These slightly oversized brushes clean and polish the tubes without causing damage, while the integrated water flush ensures all loosened deposits are fully removed from the tubes.
