Stainless steel spider brushes are designed to remove medium to hard deposits from straight or bent tubes, pipes, and hoses. For optimal cleaning results, it is recommended to use them oversized relative to the tube or pipe diameter.

Stainless steel spider brushes

Stainless steel spider brushes are designed to remove medium to hard deposits from straight or bent tubes, pipes, and hoses. These tube and pipe cleaning brushes feature strong stainless steel strands for increased cleaning results. Use these brushes to remove various dry deposits.

Practical information

Stainless steel spider brushes are designed for removing dry deposits and are not suitable for wet or greasy fouling. These brushes are always used oversized to ensure optimal contact with the pipe wall. The recommended oversize depends on the internal pipe diameter – for example, a 300 millimeter spider brush is ideal for pipes with an internal diameter of 100 – 150 millimeters.

  • Strong double clamped stainless steel strands offer high cleaning results
  • Oversized design increases both cleaning efficiency and brush lifetime

Note: Stainless steel strands can potentially generate sparks inside tubes or pipes. The brushes and associated equipment are not ATEX-certified and should not be used in explosive or flammable environments.

When to use

Spider brushes can be used almost anywhere where dry deposits have to be removed without the usage of (high pressure) water or other fluids. Some applications include:

  • Dust or product extraction piping in production facilities
  • Transport lines within production processes
  • Filling or pouring lines in packaging systems
  • Various tubes in industrial equipment, such as fire tube boilers
  • Industrial piping with internal layers of deposits, such as rust or corrosion

4 and 10 strand versions

Spider brushes are available in different strand configurations to optimize cleaning performance and adaptability to various pipe layouts. Choosing the right strand count ensures efficient deposit removal while minimizing stress on the flexible shaft.

  • Available with 4 or 10 brush strands
  • More strands = higher friction and stronger cleaning effect, but increased resistance and greater stress on the flexible shaft
  • Less strands = little less cleaning effect, but more flexibility and less stress on the flexible shaft, ideal for smaller piping with multiple bends
  • 4-strand brushes are better for pipes with multiple bends
  • 10-strand brushes are ideal for straight pipes or heavier deposits

Nylon and stainless steel

Spider brushes are available in nylon and stainless steel:

  • Nylon brushes are ideal for removing dry, soft to medium-hard deposits, such as those found in vacuum or extraction piping in food production or other manufacturing facilities.
  • Stainless steel brushes are designed for hard deposits, including corrosion, rust, and other stubborn substances. These are primarily used in industrial applications, such as the petrochemical industry.
