Goodway® hollow drills are engineered for use with the PSM-500 drilling system to effectively remove hard deposits and reopen fully clogged small-diameter tubes in heat exchangers.
When heat exchanger tubes are heavily fouled or completely clogged with deposits, the PSM-500 system offers an effective solution. Hollow drills are solid rods featuring an integrated drill head and a hollow core. This design allows water to be fed directly through the drill, ensuring continuous cooling of the drill head and flushing of loosened deposits from the tubes during cleaning.
When hard waterformed deposits, such as calcium carbonate, completely block heat exchanger tubes, the Goodway® PSM-500 drilling system is the ideal tool to restore flow capacity. While the PSM-500 reopens the tubes, it does not fully clean the internal surfaces. For optimal results, a two-step cleaning process is recommended.
By implementing this two-step process, you ensure the heat exchanger is completely cleaned, enabling it to return to optimal operational performance.
