Goodway® flare tools feature centrifugally activated wire cables with cobalt tips which are used to remove scale and other deposits inside the tubes of heat exchangers, reformers, and other systems.

Goodway® flare tools feature centrifugally activated wire cables with cobalt tips which are used to remove scale and other deposits inside the tubes of heat exchangers, reformers, and other systems. The tools feature either three or five wires that utilize centrifugal force, allowing them to automatically adjust to the tube’s inner diameter. With just three tool sizes, it is possible to cover a tube inner diameter range of 25,4 to 203,2 millimeters.
Practical information
- Flare tools are powered by a Goodway® tube cleaner and compatible (dry or wet) flexible shafts. Depending on the model, the tube cleaner can rotate the flexible shaft at speeds between 500 and 3,000 revolutions per minute. At these high speeds, the cobalt tips generate significant friction inside the tube, providing mechanical action that quickly and effectively loosens deposits.
- For optimal results and safe operation, always select the flare tool that matches the tube’s internal diameter. Due to the hardness of the cobalt tips, Goodway Benelux does not recommend using these tools on softer tube materials, such as brass, copper, nickel, aluminum, or titanium.
Threaded tool fittings
Flare tools are available exclusively with threaded tool fittings. Since these tools are commonly used in industrial applications requiring heavy-duty equipment, the threaded connection provides the strongest attachment and minimizes the risk of failure.
