Chemical cleaning of multiple residential boilers

The project
A service provider in residential heating, responsible for maintaining boiler systems that supply homes with hot water, had problems with fouling in their systems. They reached out with a project in Belgium where they had three (3) severely fouled sytems. The Goodway Benelux team was asked to provide a solution and the necessary products to assist the customer with their first chemical descaling project using Goodway® equipment.
The challenge
After years of use with regular water and without proper cleaning, the boilers had developed heavy scale buildup, reducing heat transfer efficiency and overall performance. The water formed deposits had to be removed to restore proper operation, ensuring that the residential homes supplied by these systems once again received hot water efficiently.
In fact, the boilers had lost over 50% of their capacity due to the heavy buildup of scale deposits(!) In these circumstances, the risk of under-deposit corrosion increases significantly, potentially reducing the equipment’s operational lifetime.
The solution
The Goodway Benelux team provided their GDS-C92-FWF descaling pump system in combination with Goodway® ScaleBreak-MP descaling solution to effectively remove the scale buildup within these boilers. This powerful combination allowed the customer to clean each system thoroughly and safely, restoring near-optimal performance in a relatively short amount of time.
Goodway Benelux also provided an on-site training to instruct the client’s technicians on how to properly operate the equipment and perform descaling procedures, enabling them to maintain all boilers under their service contracts efficiently and independently. In this case, they successfully recovered approximately 200 liters of volume that had previously been occupied by scale deposits.
