The Goodway® GDS-200 is a powerful descaling pump system designed to remove fouling from medium sized heat exchangers using the cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedure. It is suitable for circulating volumes of up to 1900 liters.
The Goodway® GDS-200 is a powerful descaling pump system designed to circulate volumes between 190 and 1900 liters. It is primarily used to remove fouling from medium-sized heat exchangers using the cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedure. The system features a 0,75 HP centrifugal pump and a polyethylene, acid-resistant tank for maximum safety and ease of use. The GDS-200 works best when used with Goodway®’s ScaleBreak descaler products and is particularly effective against deposits like:
During the descaling process, limescale dissolves and generates foam and gas, which can create a barrier that slows further scale removal. Using the Flow Reversal Valve allows the foam and gas to discharge into the tank, eliminating this barrier and accelerating the descaling process. With standard pumps, hoses must be manually reconfigured to reverse the flow. With the GDS-200 descaling pump system, simply turning the valve instantly reverses the flow.
This feature is particularly effective for clearing blocked or fouled internal passages in plate heat exchangers and similar equipment. Intermittent flow reversal evacuates CO2 and foam, accelerates deposit breakdown, and improves overall cleaning efficiency.
The newest addition to the Goodway® descaling pump systems is the Freshwater Flush (FWF), which adds two additional ports: a freshwater inlet and a flush (or dump) outlet. These ports provide operators with a safe and seamless way to add fresh water or discharge liquid without removing the circulation hoses during the descaling process. Simply set the valves to the dump position, open the water inlet valve, and the flushing process begins – clean, safe, and simple.
With many cleaning technologies, it is often necessary to partially or completely disassemble heat exchangers, whether plate heat exchangers, shell-and-tube designs, or boilers. Disassembly can be time-consuming and may lead to complications, such as leaks caused by incorrect reassembly.
In contrast, a preventive cleaning-in-place program offers an effective solution. CIP requires minimal disassembly and uses chemical circulation to clean the system. This method ensures that even the smallest corners and hard-to-reach areas are thoroughly cleaned – places where mechanical or other cleaning methods cannot reach. The system can remain on site, and components like the plate pack can stay compressed, simplifying the process and reducing the risk of errors.
Goodway Benelux provides complete solutions for CIP cleaning, including descaling pump systems, compatible cleaning chemicals, and accessories. In addition, their experienced team can offer guidance based on past projects and provide expert advice tailored to the specific challenges.
