The Goodway® GDS-120 is a compact descaling pump for cleaning the smallest heat exchangers and other water-operated equipment via the cleaning-in-place (CIP) method. Paired with Goodway®’s ScaleBreak descalers, it removes scale, rust and other water-formed deposits with minimal disassembly.
The Goodway® GDS-120 is a compact descaling pump system, built to remove fouling from small heat exchangers and other water-operated equipment using the cleaning-in-place (CIP) method. It pairs a 0,75 HP centrifugal pump with a 57-liter acid-resistant polyethylene tank, giving you a safe, reliable and easy-to-handle cleaning setup for the smallest applications.
The GDS-120 is built around compactness. Its 45 liters-per-minute flow rate is matched to small systems, while its compact, wheeled frame makes it easy to move, set up and store, and small enough to work in tight spaces such as vessels and plant rooms.
One of the key advantages of the GDS-120 is that the 230V model operates on both 50 and 60 Hz power frequencies, giving you the flexibility to use it across a wide range of industries and locations — from land-based facilities to the maritime sector, where it runs on board vessels regardless of the local supply frequency.
With a 57-liter tank and a flow rate of 45 liters per minute, the GDS-120 is suited to the smallest systems, including those in tight spaces.
That makes it a strong fit for:
In flow, tank capacity and overall performance, the GDS-120 is comparable to the older GDS-C40 descaling pump system. In the Goodway® descaling pump range, it is the most compact model. If your systems are larger, the GDS-160 is the next step up.
Together with Goodway®’s ScaleBreak descaler range, the GDS-120 is commonly used to clean systems affected by the deposits that reduce heat-transfer efficiency and drive up energy use:
The ScaleBreak descaler dissolves the deposits, while the GDS-120 circulates the solution through the system — reaching the internal surfaces where the cleaning actually happens.
As descaling progresses, dissolving limescale releases foam and gas that can form a barrier and slow further scale removal. The flow reversal valve lets that foam and gas discharge into the tank, clearing the barrier and speeding up the process. Where standard pumps require hoses to be manually reconfigured to reverse direction, the GDS-120 reverses flow instantly — you simply turn the valve. This is especially effective for clearing blocked or fouled internal passages in plate heat exchangers and similar equipment: intermittent flow reversal evacuates CO₂ and foam, accelerates deposit breakdown and improves overall cleaning efficiency.
The Freshwater Flush is the newest addition to Goodway®’s descaling pump systems, adding two extra ports — a freshwater inlet and a flush (dump) outlet. These give operators a safe, seamless way to add fresh water or discharge liquid without removing the circulation hoses mid-process. Set the valves to the dump position, open the water inlet valve, and flushing begins — clean, safe and simple.
Many cleaning methods require heat exchangers to be partially or fully disassembled. That is time-consuming and can introduce problems of its own, such as leaks from incorrect reassembly. A preventive CIP program avoids this: it needs minimal disassembly and uses chemical circulation to clean the system, reaching the smallest corners and hard-to-reach areas that mechanical methods cannot. Equipment stays in place, plate packs can remain compressed, and the risk of errors drops. Goodway Benelux supplies complete CIP solutions — descaling pump systems, compatible cleaning chemicals and accessories — backed by an experienced team that advises on the right approach for each system.
