Condenser coil cleaning

Goodway Benelux provides low-pressure cleaning equipment for air-cooled condensers, chillers, and dry coolers, effectively removing deposit buildup from coils, including delicate microchannel coils.

Advantages
  • Reduced risk of damaging coils
Goodway® coil cleaning solutions operate with high flow and low pressure, ensuring thorough cleaning without damaging or flattening the coils.
  • Easy-to-use equipment - do it yourself
Service technicians and maintenance engineers can easily use the equipment, with minimal training. Goodway Benelux can offer remote or onsite support, if necessary.
  • Increased efficiency and lower energy consumption
When the condenser is clean, it will use less energy to achieve optimal results, resulting in lower operating costs and increased lifetime.
  • Effective cleaning of V-shaped condensers
By using specialized WonderWand lances, V-shaped condensers can be cleaned from the inside out - without removing the fans.

More about condenser coil cleaning

Cleaning condenser coils and microchannel coils is essential to maintain system efficiency. Goodway® coil cleaning systems are engineered specifically for this purpose. By combining low pressure with high water flow, they enable safe and thorough cleaning. In addition, the equipment is easy to operate, allowing your own maintenance team to perform cleanings at your convenience and on your schedule.

"We use the Goodway® CC-400HF to periodically clean a large number of air-cooled condensers. Due to the low pressure jet and high flow, we can clean the coils well without damaging them. In combination with Coilshine, we can also degrease the coils immediately, which ensures better heat transfer after cleaning.

High waterflow – low pressure

Air-cooled heat exchangers are equipped with delicate coils and thin fins that can easily bend if cleaned improperly. This risk increases significantly when high-pressure cleaning equipment is used. Bent or flattened fins restrict airflow and reduce system efficiency.

In addition, many modern systems feature even more fragile microchannel fins. Some manufacturers recommend using low-pressure cleaning solutions due to the high risk of damage associated with standard high-pressure cleaners.

  • Goodway® coil cleaning systems operate at a low pressure of up to 30 bar combined with a high water flow of 12 liters per minute. This combination effectively removes deposits without damaging the coils. Goodway Benelux recommends the CC-400HF condenser cleaner.
  • As a result, cleanings can be performed safely and efficiently – even by in-house maintenance teams with limited coil-cleaning experience.

Adiabatic cooling, scale deposits

Some air-cooled heat exchangers are fitted with spray systems that apply water vapor onto the coils to enhance cooling capacity. These systems are prone to the build-up of hard scale deposits on the coils, which significantly reduces efficiency once the build-up reaches a certain level. Even when treated, softened water is used, airborne particles can settle on the coils and cause considerable buildup of deposits.

These deposits cannot be removed simply by spraying pressurized water. Customers often resort to high pressure systems to remove the fouling, which in turn significantly increases the risk of damaging the coils. Goodway Benelux offers a specialised descaler, ScaleBreak-Gel, which is applied to the coils using the TFC-JR system. Once the descaler has had time to react with the scale, the CC-400HF is used to remove both the deposits and the spent solution. This process is repeated two to five times, depending on the severity of the fouling.

Please note that this method is effective for scale deposits, but it has its limits: in very severe cases, where scale has accumulated heavily over a long period, this treatment may not fully restore the coils either. In such situations, we are glad to advise on the best course of action.

  • ScaleBreak-Gel clings to the coils and dissolves hard scale that water spraying and high-pressure cleaning cannot remove — without the coil damage that high pressure risks.
  • Applied with the TFC-JR and rinsed with the CC-400HF, the treatment is repeated two to five times until the coils are clean, restoring cooling efficiency.
