A Belgian interconnector facility faced fouling in air-cooled condensers and sought a safer, more effective way to maintain optimal efficiency. Learn more about how Goodway Benelux assisted with this project.
As demand for electricity continues to grow, so do the providers who supply these services. Interconnector facilities have become increasingly important for electricity distribution, allowing trade between two countries through auctions or long-term contracts, ensuring an economically stable electricity supply. These facilities generate significant heat, which must be managed for optimal performance. As a result, they rely on numerous heat exchangers that are critical to their processes, making proper maintenance of these systems essential.
Air-cooled condensers are systems that remove heat from steam or refrigerant using ambient air instead of water. Fans blow outside air over finned tubes, causing the vapor inside to condense back into liquid. They’re widely used in power plants, HVAC, and industrial processes because they save water, reduce environmental impact, and require less infrastructure than water-based cooling systems.
Goodway Benelux was approached to provide a solution for optimizing the cleaning process of their air-cooled condensers. Since the customer operates multiple systems – and did not possess the correct cleaning equipment – keeping these air cooled condensors operating at full capacity made it a time-consuming and labor-intensive task.
Goodway Benelux supplied it’s CC-400HF condenser cleaner. This is a compact system designed for cleaning air-cooled condensors. Its unique combination of low pressure and high water flow ensures thorough cleaning while minimizing the risk of damage to the delicate air fins. The CC-400HF also uses specialized tools that are fitted with quick-connect fittings, combined with Goodway®’s biodegradable cleaning solution, Coilshine, which effectively loosens fouling on the coils for easier cleaning.
Goodway Benelux complemented this solution with on-site product training, and process optimization, providing the client with a future-proof approach to maintaining their air-cooled condensers.
