Sales Engineer – DACH Region

Are you a driven sales professional who speaks fluent German and English? Join Goodway Benelux — a small, motivated team in Werkendam — and take the lead in opening up the DACH market for our innovative technical equipment. Sales experience is a must; the technical know-how, we'll teach you.

About us

Did you know that major energy producers like EPZ and Vattenfall, food manufacturers like Mars and FrieslandCampina, and even Maersk’s large container ships and superyachts rely on Goodway® equipment to clean their technical installations?

For more than 30 years, Goodway® Benelux has supplied innovative cleaning and maintenance equipment to the European HVAC and industrial markets. From heat exchangers and chillers to condensers, boilers and cooling towers, we help our customers keep their critical systems running at peak performance. We’re more than just a supplier: with our own in-house warehouse, repair centre and maintenance facility in Werkendam, we combine technical expertise with a personal, hands-on approach.

We’re a small, lean and highly motivated team of six. Everyone here makes a real difference, and we believe that a good team makes the customer journey smoother.

Your role

As our Sales Engineer for the DACH region, you’ll be responsible for growing our business across Europe, with a strong and specific focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We already have a foothold in these markets, and we’re looking for someone to truly break through: prospecting new leads, building lasting customer relationships and selling our technical equipment.

Much of your work takes place from behind your desk at our office in Werkendam: researching the market, reaching out to new prospects and building your pipeline from your computer. You frequently speak with clients online, for example via Teams, and occasionally travel to locations to meet in person. Additionally, you occasionally travel to international trade fairs as a visitor or exhibitor. The majority of client communication takes place digitally, from the office.

You’ll work both independently on your own targets and closely together with our team. Because fluent German and English are essential to connect with customers in this market, strong language skills are at the heart of this role. Proficiency in the Dutch language is an advantage, but not strictly necessary.

What you’ll do

In this role, you own the full sales journey for the DACH region — from mapping the market to closing deals and growing your accounts. Day to day, that means you will:

  • Research the DACH market to identify opportunities, target segments and potential customers
  • Actively prospect and generate new leads across Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Build and manage your own network of prospects and long-term customers
  • Advise customers on our technical products — often by phone or online via Teams — and coordinate your technical colleagues who carry out on-site demonstrations and product training at customer locations
  • Visit customers on-site to tour their factories, understand their applications and see how our equipment can help them
  • Represent Goodway Benelux at trade fairs and exhibitions — both as a visitor and as an exhibitor — on short business trips
  • Manage and grow your accounts, tracking your results and refining your approach based on feedback

What we’re looking for

Above all, we’re looking for a driven, self-starting salesperson who thrives on building something new. The technical knowledge can be learned; the ambition and the language skills are what set you apart. Specifically, you bring:

  • Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) — essential given our international activities and our ambition to grow in the DACH market. Proficiency in the Dutch language is an advantage, but not strictly necessary.
  • Proven experience in a dedicated sales role, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) environment; a track record with technical products is a plus
  • A professional, proactive and self-driven mentality, with a genuine desire to build and manage your own network of prospects and customers
  • Affinity with technical products — and, above all, with cooling and heating processes (HVAC/R). Familiarity with this industry will make getting up to speed with our products much easier. Hands-on experience with cleaning equipment itself is a plus, but not required — we’re happy to teach you what you need to know
  • A methodical approach: you research the market, develop a plan, execute it, gather feedback and adjust the plan where needed
  • Comfortable working on a computer for the bulk of your day — you write and send emails with ease in Outlook and quickly find your way around various programs, including Monday.com (our CRM)

Where you’ll work

This is an office-based role at our location in Werkendam. Remote work is not possible during your first period with us (approximately the first 12–18 months), as we consider it essential that you’re in the office to get to know our company, our team and our technical products inside and out. After this period, limited remote work (up to around one day per week) can be discussed.

What we offer

We offer a competitive package and, just as importantly, a workplace where you’ll enjoy coming in every day. Here’s what you can count on:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,500 and €5,000, plus a variable team bonus (equivalent to half a 13th-month salary) at the end of the year when the set targets are achieved
  • Holiday pay (8%), a solid pension plan and 25 days of annual leave (based on a 40-hour work week)
  • A professional workspace with a laptop, two screens, a sit/stand desk, a mobile phone and much more
  • A good working atmosphere with energetic, enthusiastic colleagues
  • The chance to work together on cool projects and, through our Goodway® Academy, to deepen your knowledge of industrial cleaning and general maintenance in heating and cooling technology
  • Room to develop yourself and shape the growth of an entire market
  • A fun team outing every quarter, plus the occasional Friday-afternoon drinks or a sports session together
